BB-REM

Riveted system

BB-REM is a kit system based on flat panels of Buildbond® aluminium composite, designed for the installation of ventilated façades. It is an exposed-fixing system, light and quick to install, that allows both horizontal and vertical modulation. The omega rails of the substructure allow the panels to be adapted and curved — including vertically — meeting the most demanding architectural cladding requirements.

The substructure consists of omega rails and spacers. The spacers, available in various lengths, accommodate the desired thermal insulation thickness and compensate for irregularities in the wall; thermal breaking is ensured by insulating shims placed between the spacers and the vertical wall. Anchoring to the wall is carried out with mechanical fixings suited to each type of substrate.

The system can be assembled on a unidirectional or bidirectional substructure: in the former, the horizontal joint remains open; in the latter, the horizontal rails are fixed to the vertical members or directly to the wall through the spacers. The Buildbond® panels are riveted around their perimeter to the substructure, with holes oversized relative to the rivet to absorb the thermal expansion of the material. The rivets can be lacquered in the finish colour, blending discreetly into the façade.

For each project, Alubuild’s technical department carries out the specific calculation of the substructure, defining the maximum spacing between rails and the number of fixings required.
